160 people of India have died of unknown infection

Unknown disease struck thousands of people from 350 villages in the province bordering Kanpur from Delhi the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, 160 sick died in August 2008.

Initially, local doctors felt that dealing with viral hemorrhagic fever, then – as with malaria. Currently, both found incorrect diagnosis, but the cause of the epidemic has not been established. Arriving in the pocket of infection specialists from New Delhi had collected blood samples of patients for analysis, results are expected within a few days.

Worst affected villages Pulandar and Dhar. The latter has lost about 30 residents, but only visit a doctor was 15 days ago. Antiepidemic work is not done, despite the unsanitary conditions in the affected villages – they are contaminated by waste. Because the village has begun a mass exodus. In such an environment should expect only further spread of the epidemic.
